Israeli Security Company Managing the Security of FIFA World Cup 2014

Israel is the only country, which is the place for several security companies in online security and fraud prevention or any other type of security. These companies are supplying the security hardware and infrastructure management technology to FIFA world cup this year to keep any eye on every movement and for maintaining peace at the stadium. The NICE Situator is providing a fully featured service to manage the thousands of cameras, sensors, and the data coming from behavioral sensors, social media analytics, fire alert or any invaders, they are prepare for every possible situations. RISCO Groups also could be hired by the FIFA officials to take same services for different stadium. The World cup is a big event so the FIFA official needs to hire different companies because all matches will be happeneing as different stadiums so every deployment must be completed before players come to the stadium.

“We are honored to have been selected to provide the security solutions for the Arena Pantanal for the 2014 World Cup and thereafter,” said Michael Isakov, managing director of RISCO Security Management Solutions. “Our professional teams have been working together with the System Integrator, to ensure that all integrated systems work together seamlessly and efficiently to assure a successful and safe mega event.” Read More at timesofisrael

The Security system that NICE is supplying, is very advanced system that comes in the several module and combination of software and hardware modules. It is also features the hardware, access control system, video system, perimeter sensors, GPS, and all members are connected through radio communication. So all the services, and NICE probably cost a little more to the FIFA authorities. The management team can keep an eye on every nook and every corner in the stadium and outside also. In Similar way RISCO Group will be incorporating services.

EBay has just encounter a massive attack on the Corporate Network, it was strongly cracked and the security was breached with the Data and Information has been compromised. However eBay has responded that there is no evidence that the any of the customer’s financial information has been stolen but company requested all users to change the usernames and passwords. EBay has also says that they were a victim, of the massive cyber attack on the corporate Network, which exploited the database restraining EBay’s user passwords and also said that there is no evidence that the Financial information stolen. This news comes out when Ebay owned PayPal posted a Blog post says “eBay, Inc. to Ask All eBay users to Change Passwords”, the post has nothing but title but gone viral on web and causing confusion among the Online Auction house.

Cnet Says“After conducting extensive tests on its networks, the company said it has no evidence of the compromise resulting in unauthorized activity for eBay users, and no evidence of any unauthorized access to financial or credit card information, which is stored separately in encrypted formats,"

This has been not a new incident, when a company got hacked, several big brands like Target, AT&T has hacked but the big threat to the Internet is NSA, which previously accused of installing the spyware into network hardware. As of Ebay, it also concerned about the PayPal Users but its User information and other confidential info is stored in separated encrypted network.

Ebay had detected the attack two weeks before news and spending the time to investigate, how many information had been compromised. They narrowed down the attack to a smaller figure and concluded that hacker stole the Employees Login credentials, which then provided them the access to corporate Network and other Data that they altered and stole.

The Allegation On NSA, Cisco and the Interception

The last month was very hectic for NSA and for us too because of NSA involvement of such wrong activities and Glenn Greenwald’s book that also detailed about the NSA interceptions from US companies. Then it installed the spyware and other unwanted software into the server for information gathering just to keep an eye on overseas companies. There are so many News Corporation that are published the pictures that shows that how Cisco System captured the equipment and weakened so that NSA can have a deeper look into the activity or we can also say that NSA is hacking the American hardware that is sold to other countries. This is the same kind of work that US government has accused Chinese companies are hacking the equipments on the behalf of the Chinese Government.  Today the latter from Cisco CEO John Chambers had enjoyed the extensive spread. Chambers appeal for new standards of conducts indicated that Cisco does not work with any government except US government to weaken the products.

TechCrunchSays “In an interview this morning, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said that the interdiction program that has been variously reported over the course of several revelations “does not sound familiar.” There’s an implicit counter-argument here that I think applies to much of the recent course of NSA revelations: That if only the programs had not come to light, the harm to American companies and citizens would have been nonexistent.”

The Concept behind this talk was to make you ware of such work of NSA and that we are very vulnerable to the government agencies and also the Internet companies are working with NSA to provide the more knowledge for the surveillance to their programs. Also Snowden creates revolutions and now it our time to take a part in those revolutions.

AOL Proposes New Policies To Prevent Email Spoofing

AOL, which is the biggest American multinational mass media corporation based in New York, is now imposing a stricter email validations process to prevent any hacker with harmful intentions to take any spoof attack. The Email has been sent off to each and every user including all the clients and third party partners. AOL did a similar move like Yahoo did before by changing its DMRC policies to “reject” means, a line of text would be added into its DNS record which instructed mailbox to eliminate any email which purportedly connected to AOL domain but ain’t coming from the AOL server. This newly proposed policies have secure the user data because not even a single mail would be passing from the servers that didn’t originated from AOL server so users don’t have to worry about any fake mail have AOL logo. The Change into policies had come after user complaining that they’re receiving mail which looks from AOL but having links from other malicious sources.
AOL posted a Blogpost “Today we moved to change our DMARC policy to p=reject. This helps to protect AOL Mail users' addresses from unauthorized use. It also stops delivery on what previously would have been considered authorized mail sent on behalf of AOL Mail users via non-AOL servers. If you're a bulk sender on behalf of AOL addresses that probably includes mail sent from you. Mail sent on behalf of AOL Mail users to DMARC-compliant domains will be rejected by those domains unless the mail passes SPF and/or DKIM authentication checks AND the domain(s) used in those checks match aol.com.”

This policy will make their users to determine which mail is from AOL or which is from a Hacker because just because user don’t understands the technical terms a huge data theft could be done like  Michaels Verify Security Hack Compromised Nearly 3M credit cards.

Michaels Verify Security Hack Compromised Nearly 3M credit cards

Back in January Michaels which is in business of Arts and crafts retail chain was investigating the security breach and trying to find how much data have been compromised but they didn't disclosed the results. Michaels is the biggest retailers in US and Canada which runs on more than 1000 stores. Michaels is committed to working with all appropriate parties to improve the security of payment card transactions for all consumers."

As internet goes on people are rather afraid to make any online payments because of such hacks but they're more afraid of having their government spying on them and intercepting their accounts as Snowden blow the whistle. The claims that he made come in response to a claim from NSA Deputy Director Rick Ledgett, who is responsible for agency’s investigation of Snowden and who source reported that Snowden has never made a formal complaints and that no one has ever reported that he raise those concerns to them. So the point is, Snowden—right now who residing in Russia for almost a year now and US government wanted him under the Espionage Act. The president himself says the he’s getting the help from another countries and his removal will not be leaking another secret files.

Snowden Told a News Websites that "The NSA at this point not only knows I raised complaints, but that there is evidence that I made my concerns known to the NSA's lawyers, because I did some of it through e-mail. I directly challenge the NSA to deny that I contacted NSA oversight and compliance bodies directly via e-mail and that I specifically expressed concerns about their suspect interpretation of the law, and I welcome members of Congress to request a written answer [from the NSA] to this question, When asked about his initial reaction to the revelation that Snowden was the leak, Ledgett tells Vanity Fair there was a personal sense of betrayal, stating, It was like getting kicked in the stomach.”

5 Year old Kid Accidently Hacked Xbox and Appreciated by Microsoft

People are fascinated with the gaming experience these days but some games like Microsoft’s halo is very offensive in terms of combat and war type, something that parents don’t want their children to see or play so they set a password for the game and can go outside just be sure about that their kids won't play it but a 5 year old kid accidentally breached the security of Xbox one live account and playing the game continuously until when his father figured out that his son was playing the game. The Kid is from Los Angeles and his name is Kristoffer, the flaw was—when it asked for password, he continuously pressed space and then pounded the enter button repeatedly and it worked correctly and security bypasses and now he can play any game he want.

TechCrunch Reported “Late April Fool’s joke? Doesn't seem like it. Word of Kristoffer’s 1337-ness comes from ABC10 news down in LA, who notes that Microsoft took the bug seriously enough to give Kristoffer a security researcher credit after the bug was patched. Sure enough, a quick glance at Microsoft’s security acknowledgements for March lists one Kristoffer Wilhelm von Hassel. He’s one of few individuals on the page whose name doesn’t link to a Twitter account, since he’s… you know, too young to have a Twitter account.”

The same incident happen at facebook, when a security researcher from Israel name “Khalil” founded a bug in the password matching module of FB and reported them but they didn’t rewarded his bounty. But unlike this Microsoft took the bug seriously and appreciate him as security researcher, company listed him a contributor to their bug fixing list from March 2014 and also paid him the reward to finding the bug.

Documents Leaked by Edward Snowden Says “Chinese Huawei Hacked By NSA”

A latest report from NY times says that National Security Intelligence has exploited the hardware maker Chinese company Huawei and gets the access to company’s source code, the documents reveals that NSA hacked into router maker Huawei servers with intentions to inject a malware into hardware so that it can spy on foreign rivals. The leaks are suggesting that NSA has started an operation called “Shotgiant” which breaks any type of security. Huawei is world’s second largest networking component maker after Cisco Systems. This all happing to the fact that US government has a doubt about Huawie products were used as Trojan horse which letting Chinese government to sneaks in other company’s clients. NSA not only gained access to the source but they also manipulated the emails.

Cnet publisheda report “For some of its most audacious attacks, China relies on hackers at state-funded universities and privately owned Chinese technology companies, apparently as much for their skills as for the plausible deniability it offers the state if it gets caught. The NSA is tracking more than half a dozen such groups suspected of operating at the behest of the Chinese Ministry of State Security, China's civilian spy agency.”

Obama already suggested a policy that agency have to ask companies to request the data, And after that several companies released transparency report, Google, Facebook, Twitter. Due to this entire incident from NSA and also Edward Snowden’s viral Interview at South by Southwest festival which was seen by millions of people by seven proxies around the world, US government got panicked and refuse to come to SXSW festival. Meanwhile both agency and Huawei responded in kind and refused to have such incident.

New Google Glass App Emotient Reads Your Emotions

Google glass has got a lot of attention since Google launched it in the market as developer edition for developer to make good apps for the hardware to integrate, now whether that much publicity is good or bad but people can’t stop developers to create applications for this piece of wearable technology are far reaching. There are hundreds of things which you can do with the glass and one such application that is to detect your emotion through emotion detection technology, a company named Emotient is working on a application, which anybody can use on their google glass. The application detects your emotion through sensors to suggest whether you are getting angry or getting to much sad to control your emotions. Company already raised $6 million in capital for the new app. This could seem same as controversial facial recognition app that hit the news earlier.

TeachBeat says “The Emotient app is not necessarily marketed at normal Glass owners though, as it seems, the firm wants to market the use to corporations rather than the public.  Emotient CEO Ken Denman was quoted in a press release as saying that “All good business leaders know ‘you get what you measure’, and being able to objectively and accurately monitor customer sentiment allows retail teams to build plans and tactics to win.”  Denman followed that with a statement regarding the benefits of gauging human sentiment and how it relates to the ability to drive focus and sales.”

Emotient wants to help user to understand this Facial Recog tech, with the android app they're developing and so many experts expecting this to be the tool to help corporate people to do their job with more effectiveness by controlling their feelings at work or meeting. It can also alerts a user to negative out come from particular person at public location like ATM or a bus stop.

Gartner: Android Grabs Top Spot From iPad With 62% Share

Apple has got the class and build quality but still it has lagging in Tablet industry. A mobile and Tablet analyst Gartner have released the Tablet sale list of 2013, and according to Gartner Android phones have topped the list, Apple tablets has on 2nd place. Android took over 62 % of the total market with 121 Million tablets, apple sold 70 million tablets. Recently expert detected so many hackers invaded into with malicious intention to harm the device but user don’t care that much. Last year Apple had the first place with 53 % of sale on 61 million iPads with comparison to Android 46 % with 53 million sold. So what fuels sales?? Low cost, big screen, or Build qualities. Gartner believes that Ironically Money is matters, and low cost Devices making their way into market.

Gartner said “As the Android tablet market becomes highly commoditized, in 2014, it will be critical for vendors to focus on device experience and meaningful technology and ecosystem value — beyond just hardware and cost — to ensure brand loyalty and improved margins. In 2013, tablets became a mainstream phenomenon, with a vast choice of Android-based tablets being within the budget of mainstream consumers while still offering adequate specifications, Going further into specific vendors and brands, Apple continues to lead tablet sales overall with 36% of all sales on that 70 million figure. Samsung, as expected, is using its bigger range of Galaxy tablets to catch up swiftly, with 37 million tablets sold for a 19% share”

Company struggling to make the way for their product into the market like Microsoft, Windows Phone OS is great Operating system but the App Ecosystem is still lacking somewhere, people fares to buy Windows Device. To compete with Google or Apple, Microsoft needs to create persuasive ecosystem for consumers and developers too, and as of 2014 Smartphone and Tablet is the key devices to deliver services direct to user beyond PC so they need to work harder with technology.

Google’s Sundar Pichai Didn’t Say Android’s Openness Makes It Less Secure

Sundar Pichai, the head of Android at Google discussed about the Android Security and its Open source. Sources said that Pichai describing about the OS openness which makes it less secure. Company has already admitting that it is inherently less secured, due to its openness. Pichai didn’t repeat the same line instead he made some points which led the conversation away arguing that the Openness actually makes it more secure, not less. His point that the disintegration caused from OEMs shipping is outdated that’s why it less secure software, leads to Non-Google insecurity is quite good and the up to date operating system’s quality could be compared to iOS. He’s trying to have it in both ways, if up to date versions is secured so why they still shipping the old versions to Carriers and failing to provide the updates.

Pichai said at Mobile World Congress “Sorry, the premise of the question is because Android is open, it has more security issues? Respectfully, I’m not sure that’s a correct premise of the question. Open platforms historically undergo a lot of scrutiny, but there are a lot of advantages to having an open source platform from a security standpoint. I would argue that it’s the best way for a platform to be secure, because every researcher in the world can inspect it, every developer in the world can inspect it, and I think that contributes a lot to Android security. It was built to be very, very secure. The thing that you’re seeing is because Android is an open platform, many people can ship Android in many different ways and so there are some partners when they ship devices”

But unaware of such flaws in the Android Phone, user still buying the Smartphone’s and regularly using it. If a hacker wants to exploit lots of phones, he will attack the tighter Controlled platform with Small market share because study had proved that 99.8 percent of mobile Malware targets to Google OS.

Voice Is Future Of The Technology

There is no doubt that voice is the future of technology. Company like Microsoft thinks touch is the future but Google thinks operating your device from your voice is cool. Google has already started this revolution by putting personal assistant into Nexus 5 and Moto G Smartphone’s. With all this technology advancement Google has have a voice related security mechanism to prevent the use of the phone from unwanted person. Voice recognition isn’t something that user has to touch to use but it is always listing to you and waiting to talk to user. Like on Nexus 5 when you say “Ok Google” on home screen it’ll open “Google Now” a personal assistant voice search app.

Google Co founder and CEO Larry Page Said “Basically, artificial intelligence would be the ultimate version of Google. So we have the ultimate search engine that would understand everything on the Web. It would understand exactly what you wanted, and it would give you the right thing. That's obviously artificial intelligence, to be able to answer any question, basically, because almost everything is on the Web, right?, which would understand exactly what you wanted when you typed in a query, and it would give you the exact right thing back. You could say into a phone "what you want to search for and it will be pulled up”

Solving such problem is what motivates Google to develop the artificial intelligence technology. This assistant is uses a perfect speech detection method and a natural language processing algorithm. What it exactly does is pretty cool.  Ask it “Call Dad” and it will do that. It will open webpages, Apps on the phone, play songs for you, even it answer more tough questions like what’s the weather?? And more like that. It’s no shock that company took in the Google Nowto phones, the founders have long been taking interest into AI.

Here is the Ad Video by Google to show you how you can use "Google Now"

Every time a user attempts to send a message through Snapchat, a token, which is a code made up of letters and numbers, is generated to verify their identity. Sanchez, who wrote about his security findings, said a flaw within Snapchat’s system allows hackers to reuse old tokens to send new messages.””

Google Launches Smart Contact Lens

Google Unveils a contact lenses earlier in yester week. The Company’s X lab just tested a pair of contact lenses that can detect the blood sugar Level and warn the user when the sugar level crosses its threshold value. The Firm says it is a prototype at present it uses a wireless chip and a tiny glucose sensor to detect the Glucose level in blood. These two chips are entrenched between two soft layers of the contact lens matter.

In the launch, firm had said that scientist had tested it on different people bodies and determine how the flow of blood will be different from one another? This sensor can take one reading per second, and there is tiny LED bulb that glitch when the level of the glucose will cross its threshold value. It says that company is working with FDA to take this product into market.

As we know that so many other companies including Microsoft had trying to launch such product into market. It don’t seem like there is any other smart lenses present in the market. It just takes to find right partners to launch this technology in the market. Google says that they will work on and develop more apps that will warn user and his doctor to about the high glucose level.

Washington post Published a report about "The soft contact lens that Google is unveiling — it’s still a prototype — houses a sensor that measures the glucose levels in tears. A tiny pinhole in the lens lets tear fluid seep over the glucose monitor to get regular readings. Right now, the company said, it can get a level reading once every second. The lens also features a tiny antenna, capacitor and controller so that the information gathered from the lens can move from the eye to a device — such as a handheld monitor — where that data can be read and analyzed. It will draw its power from that device and communicate with it using a wireless technology known as RFID".

Here is a video from Google to show you concept of the contact Lense
