Newly Founded Snapchat Vulnerability Could Let Hackers to Crash Your Smartphone

Snapchat, the new social phenomenon to share your thoughts and feeling but with the power comes big responsibility and as it continues to grow security expert found interesting in security platform. it is a social app company collaborated with many telecommunication companies to allow their user to use the snapchat platform on different Smartphone. Security Expert Jamie Sanchez has publicizes vulnerability in the Snapchat that the app is open for denial-of-service attack. By congestion in the inbox with messages, a hacker could freeze and crash your iPhone or forcing user to reset the device. As for Android device, it can make it much slower but company working on  fraud prevention of such flow in the app.

Los Angeles Times had published a report on this “Flooding one user with so many messages can clog their account to the point that the Snapchat app causes the entire device to freeze and ultimately crash, or require that the user perform a hard reset. Snapchat is a popular mobile app for iPhone and Android devices that allow users to send each other photo and video messages that disappear a few seconds after they are opened by their recipients. Every time a user attempts to send a message through Snapchat, a token, which is a code made up of letters and numbers, is generated to verify their identity. Sanchez, who wrote about his security findings, said a flaw within Snapchat’s system allows hackers to reuse old tokens to send new messages.””

Snapchat Hacked by Security Researcher
