New Google Glass App Emotient Reads Your Emotions

Google glass has got a lot of attention since Google launched it in the market as developer edition for developer to make good apps for the hardware to integrate, now whether that much publicity is good or bad but people can’t stop developers to create applications for this piece of wearable technology are far reaching. There are hundreds of things which you can do with the glass and one such application that is to detect your emotion through emotion detection technology, a company named Emotient is working on a application, which anybody can use on their google glass. The application detects your emotion through sensors to suggest whether you are getting angry or getting to much sad to control your emotions. Company already raised $6 million in capital for the new app. This could seem same as controversial facial recognition app that hit the news earlier.

TeachBeat says “The Emotient app is not necessarily marketed at normal Glass owners though, as it seems, the firm wants to market the use to corporations rather than the public.  Emotient CEO Ken Denman was quoted in a press release as saying that “All good business leaders know ‘you get what you measure’, and being able to objectively and accurately monitor customer sentiment allows retail teams to build plans and tactics to win.”  Denman followed that with a statement regarding the benefits of gauging human sentiment and how it relates to the ability to drive focus and sales.”

Emotient wants to help user to understand this Facial Recog tech, with the android app they're developing and so many experts expecting this to be the tool to help corporate people to do their job with more effectiveness by controlling their feelings at work or meeting. It can also alerts a user to negative out come from particular person at public location like ATM or a bus stop.
