Back in January Michaels which is in
business of Arts and crafts retail chain was investigating the security breach
and trying to find how much data have been compromised but they didn't disclosed the results. Michaels is the biggest retailers in US and Canada which
runs on more than 1000 stores. Yesterday they've come up with the results of
the instigation that two different data theft at the point-of-sale last year at
its US store and Aaron Brother’s stores may have compromised approx 3 million
credit card and transactions on the go.

Chuck Rubin the CEO said “Our
customers are always our number one priority and we are truly sorry for any
inconvenience or concern Michaels may have caused. We are committed to
assisting affected customers by providing fraud assistance, identity protection
and credit monitoring services. Importantly, with this incident now fully
contained, we can assure customers this malware no longer presents a threat to
shoppers at Michaels or Aaron Brothers In an era where very sophisticated and
determined criminals have proven capable of successfully attacking a wide range
of computer networks, we must all increase our level of vigilance. Michaels is
committed to working with all appropriate parties to improve the security of payment
card transactions for all consumers."
As internet goes on people are rather
afraid to make any online payments because of such hacks but they're more afraid
of having their government spying on them and intercepting their accounts as
Snowden blow the whistle. The breach was happens in between of May 8 2013 and January
27 2014 may have put the risk about 2.6 million cards and 7 percent of the
payment cards at their store, they apologies for any problem and willing to provide
any fraud assistant customers needed during changing the security.
