Vallejo
Police Department and its officials launched a new and an innovative program
named Project V-Cam to allow for better access towards private surveillance
cameras in the attempt to resolve criminal activities. Surveillance
news reported that the project would ask business units and residents
possessing to install private camera systems and collaborate with police
officials as well as register those systems with the department. Vallejo police
officials aimed towards creation of a citywide map, so that they can easily
know where to seek surveillance footage nearby any type of criminal activity or
crime scene.
Currently,
Vallejo city incorporates about 30 camera systems in various criminal hot
spots. Thus, police officers introduced Project V-Cam in the attempt to
increase the numbers of surveillance and information
systems in different areas of the entire city. V-Cam possesses the
specialty of providing competitive digital communication tools to public and
teaches necessary skills for application of such tools in the effective and
efficient way as possible. In fact, the camera system strives to acquire and
maintain professional level of audio/video device to be used by police
officials for investigation procedures.
According
to the comments given by Captain James Connell, senior officer at Vallejo
Police Department, “Our goal with that is to catalog and know where all the privately
owned cameras are throughout Vallejo. It's entirely voluntary, if people don't
want to participate, there's no obligation to participate and we absolutely
respect it.” You will find a similar type of update from here. Other than this,
Mayor of Vallejo City named Osby Davis opined in front of news analysts that
the new V-Cam program collaborates with public and proves to be an effective
step to help police force reducing in numbers during the bankruptcy condition
of entire city.
