Last week,
unknown intruder has broken and hacked the supercomputer of New Zealand’s
organization named National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research.
However, he was unable to inflict any kind of significant damage. After this
incident, John Morgan, the Chief Executive Officer of NIWA acknowledged in
front of the surveillance news analysts and public that an unauthorized
individual has accessed the computer system. Thus, after the incident, IBM
known as the manufacturer of various supercomputer devices and cyber security
center of NZD Government will check and at the same time will restore
supercomputer before starting it again.
However,
Mr. Morgan said that the intruder failed to access any of the machine or device
storing sensitive and crucial data. Instead, the hacker has only able to access
FitzRoy computer installed in the year 2010 by NIWA experts at its facility
located in Welllington. Main role of this computer device is to research and
predict for weather and climatic condition in the city. “FitzRoy is based on an IBM System
P575 Power6 supercomputer with supporting systems, and is similar to the
machine used by the UK's MetOffice.” Read a similar type of update from here.
Indeed the
entry of an intruder into an incredible property of New Zealand-based
organization and intention towards hacking of supercomputer devices is definitely
a big challenge for both organizations and individuals involved in security
sector. Hence, it is essential for experienced people involved in dealing with
security and surveillance systems to apply some innovative technologies or
solutions in the attempt to prevent such outrageous situations in NZD and in
other parts of the world.
Here comes
the role of advanced IA i.e. Interaction Analytics systems introduced by Skylex Voice Solutions of Israel. Although,
currently the product is used in call center and telecom companies, but later
on company and its professionals are planning to apply it for resolving wide
range of security issues. IA system is available to people with various types
of modular engines or platforms, like call flow and emotional analysis modules,
keyword spotting modules, text messages, estimation of calls and personnel
mentoring modules.
